The World’s Greatest Orchestras

Ibermusica continues to rely on the greatest orchestras of the world in one of our most challenging seasons, when, perhaps more than ever, we want to rediscover and enjoy the most outstanding music making in the world: the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Berlin, Vladimir Jurowski conducting, stellar performances of the St Petersburg Philharmonic , the Staatskapelle Berlin Orchestra, the NDR Elbphilharmonie, Radio Viena Symphony, Filarmonica della Scala, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

Great Conductors

This season we can enjoy the mastery of some of the most distinguished conductors of today performing some of the most famous compositions in the history of music: Marin Alsop, Daniel Barenboim, Riccardo Chailly, Alan Gilbert, Gustavo Gimeno, Vladimir Jurowski, Jonathan Nott, Sir Antonio Pappano, Vladimir Spivakov, and Yuri Temirkanov. Tom Koopman, the renowned specialist in baroque repertoire will be an added pleasure in December.

Great Violinists

As is tradition in Ibermúsica, we will have great violinists throughout the season; Joshua Bell, Nicola Benedetti, Julia Fischer and Leonidas Kavakos. The renowned violinist and director, Vladimir Spivakov will conduct Alexey Lundin and the Moscow Virtuosi in a celebration of strings. Anne-Sophie Mutter will also take part in an extraordinary concert.

The Voice of the Cello

The 21-22 season in Ibermúsica will bring three of the most exceptional cellists:

Yo-Yo Ma will perform the Six Suites for cello in a special concert of “The Bach Project”. Kian Soltani accompanied by the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and Narek Hakhnazaryan will premiere in our series together with the Orquesta Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

Maestros of the Piano

Ibermusica continues to invite the greatest pianists as well as rising stars. As a starting point, Evgeny Kissin commanding repertoire of Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Beethoven. Bezhod Abduraimov performing Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Concerto with St Petersburg Philharmonic and Beatrice Rana accompanied by the Philharmonique du Luxembourg performing Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme from Paganini.
